Start a LIFE Group

Step 1
Contact your friends, relatives, and co-workers and tell them that you’re starting a LIFE GROUP Bible study. Ask them if they are interested and if so, if they are willing and able to devote an hour a day for however many days a week you wish to meet.

Step 2
Schedule certain times each day for your group to meet and inform the members of these days. Send your “weekly dates and name of your LIFE GROUP” to lastharvest@gmail.com. We will publish it on our available “calendar of events.”

Print/Hand out the LIFE GROUP INFO PAGE. Use it to hand out at friends or first visitors to LIFE GROUP meetings. Pass out schedules and hand them out to participants in your LIFE GROUP. On the schedules, list the address of the place the meeting will be held, what topics or passage you will be studying on what days and other things that you might do, such as attend a prayer or worship event locally. One great way is to bring everyone together on Friday or Saturday evening to reinforce the idea of keeping the Sabboth Holy.

Step 3
Meet with your LIFE GROUP and explain that you will be studying one topic or book of the Bible at a time. You can go in order or you can mix it up. Systematically studying one book at a time can help prevent confusion when working with small groups. If you had your computer in your living room, you could playback our on-demand videos. If you download the associated notes, you can provide each member with a copy by emailing them the PDF file. Print a few extra copies to hand out to visitors who did not bring or did not receive their copy. Further, you can download the “MP3″ file of the weekly study to play on-demand on your local mp3 player. You can bookmark our videos and even download the mp4 if you need it for playback on your home player, IPad or IPad.

Step 4
Study 3 to 4 verses a week and have the group create questions to ask one another out loud about the specific verses. The group may talk freely about each verse. Recite the verses together out loud and then have the members try to recite the verses out loud by themselves. Don’t let anyone become discouraged if he cannot remember a verse word for word. Ask him to look back at the verse and try again.

Step 5
Put up flyers and send out bulletins to inform everyone of the LIFE GROUP. You may even give it a name. Post flyers in churches, at parks, or stores (ask the owner’s permission first). Ask members to spread the word as word-of-mouth is a very effective form of advertising.

Step 6
Register your LIFE GROUP with Last Harvest Fellowship for additional resources.
