Pastor Ken Freeman

I began my own Christian journey in 1974
After growing and being asked to teach, I sought more training in the Word at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX
Next, as the ministry was being birthed as a local church planting called Calvary Chapel of Dallas, Tx. Working closely with Bill the pastor, I led worship along with his wife, Kathy. This began in 1980. In 1984, the non-profit org called Last Harvest MInistries, Inc. was established.
Our start began as a local radio show on Friday nights. That show helped bring 28 volunteers and approximately 100 donors to our side as we were called to open the first sonogram-based pregnancy alternative center next to an abortion clinic on Markville Dr. in North Dallas. We moved into the space donated by Christian Crafts Inc. in January. By April, 1985 we had 28 volunteers trained and ready to open for business. Between 1985-1987 the center watched over 1900 visitors come for testing or sonograms. Over 1300 unborn children were saved from abortion. Working with Big Heart Ministries, Inc. Don Hart and his followers would bring their large JESUS SAVES 18 wheeler flat-bed and hold a Christian prayer and worship session in front of the abortion center on Saturday. You might say we drove the abortion center crazy.
We were subsequently attacked by the West 57th Street Television program late in 1986 which called our center a “Fake Bogus Clinic” on national television. We lost all support and space virtually overnight. All funding dropped so that by January 1987, the ministry was moved into a tiny executive office with a desk and a chair. A phone call came in mid-January invited us to appear on PTL TV Jan. 22, 1987. That broadcast and other on other networks including CBN, ETBN and MOODY led to 18,000 requests for after abortion recovery help. That catalytic event, led to the writing of Healing the Hurts of Abortion in 1987. Our first support groups began the fall of 1987 and through 1988. Then, the need for training leaders was born. In 1989 I began an eight year seminar training program that equipped and trained over 2500 directors and staff nationally. In 1993, I wrote FREE ME TO LIVE as the expanded, amplified, gender-neutral, issue-neutral course. That same year, we experienced a major gift that allowed us to establishe a safe house retreat in Marshall, TX to allow recovery clients a safe place to retreat to for recovery. Between 1993 – 1996 we served more than 600 recovery clients there.
It was in 1990, that I was ordained by Grand Beacon Church of Dallas, TX, an inner-city church plant by Church on the Rock of Rockwall Tx. In 1994, the ministry was placed on-line with our first website. By 1997, the network began to grow. Between 1997 and 2004 over 20 web sites were created. In 2007, another push drove our network to today’s 37 website outreach.
This church was established in 2007 as a means of sharing a Bible study with a few close friends spread around the country. Today, the site has been through three complete makeovers and so far reached over 75,000 visitors from 125 nations. Our average traffic to this site is about 2000 individuals a week.
Pastor Ken shares one in-depth “systematic” and “systemic” Bible study based on the proven method of going line-by-line, precept-by-precept in a down to earth, practical manner so that you can grow spiritually along a sound methodology of teaching. The goal is to cover the Bible in total every four – five years. In addition, Pastor Ken provides written notes and articles in great abundance through our Spiritual Expressions outreach site.
I pray you will find Last Harvest Fellowship a safe and warm fellowship for your own personal growth.
I look forward to the day I get to meet each of you in heaven for eternity.
To God be the Glory,
Pastor Ken Freeman
